B58 injector dc maxing out

Hello, can someone tell me how this is passible, injector dc is maxing out, at 4500rpm and 0.7boost, im using ecumaster b58 basemap

my engine b58b30

and boost is claiming to 0.8bar wtih even manualy 100% open wg

Hi,

The base map is only for starting the engine.
It is not fully tuned.

If this is a B58TU (Gen2), you can increase fuel pressure up to 350 bar.
You can also extend the injection angle window.

Our B58 v1.0 base map (available on the website) is fairly conservative when it comes to high-pressure target and start of injection. Since it was tuned at 0.4 bar, you may notice injector duty cycle maxing out at higher boost levels.

We’ve prepared a B58 v2.0 base map with an updated high-pressure target, revised injection parameters, and improved high-pressure pump control.

This base map is available in the recently published New EMU PRO software version 261.0.1 beta, under the “Load base map” feature.

You can use it offline to review the values in the v2.0 base map, or load it directly to your ECU. That said, as @mkuklis_ECUMASTER noted, base maps are only a starting point and still require careful tuning.

i understood that its only base map, im on dyno starting tune it and noticed that its hitting max duty cycle on injectors at 4500rpm and 0.7bar thats abnormal and im stuck in there with no solution for now

What is the rail pressure and can you upload a log and map?

log is attached, in 15min i will try new pull with also updated settings and adjusted injector angle.

Rail pressure is high enough in my opinion.

yea i dont see problem also, i can confirm that it actually using full injector dc, because i can see low fuel pressure pumps need a LOT pwm speed to keep 5bar up, and with manually fully open wastegate it boosts to 0.9bar witch make sense because there is so much fuel and energy, with fully open wastegate it should be producing 0.2bar i have tuned a lot original b58 engines.

Stock engine can easy boost to 1.6bar with extra spece for injector dc. for reference

BUT the lambda shows good numbers even external one from dyno so WTF

can you share dyno pull log?

i tried fresh project same problem, with ewg detached and manual opened wastegate it boosts to 0.8bar witch can only happened if load of fuel is trowed in exhaust manifold, im thinking could it be maybe wrong injector wiring, every ting else works runs idles perfectly.

engine is different then yours, but it shares same inj, puel pump, sensors, maybe someting internaly is dffrent

Did you follow the wiring connections that are described in the base map description?

The GDI driver requires a specific pairing of the cylinders, so it can’t be one-to-one connection.

yes i checked wiring, all ok, also checked injector they are correct ones, can it be that oem ecu is injecting also in compression window till ignition happens?

For GDI you can inject fuel both during intake and compression. You want to stop somewhat before ignition to ensure good mixing. I have no idea if the OEM B58 tune is doing that, but I did on a BMW N20 engine 6 years ago using a different aftermarket ECU (EMU PRO GDI wasn’t available at the time).

I agree with @ScottSmith, with direct injection you should have a strong understanding of valve events using a degree wheel. As stated you can push the injection event well into the compression stroke (before ign).

Also HPFP pressure should not be ignored, run it near its max bar at wot as the OEM did. Running the pressure too low will also increase your injection events.
