I’m using a laptop with a trackpad (not a mouse) and routinely use two finger scrolling for various windows. The pane that has the logging rate of all the channels has, in my opinion, poor logging behavior.
If I move my fingers quickly, the window scrolls one line at a time for a second or so. If I do that twice it will just keep scrolling for what feels like forever. IMO the scrolling should:
- When my fingers stop, the scrolling should stop. Which is really an artifact of…
- It should scroll more than one line at a time when “faster” scrolling is detected.
- Also while when “fast” scrolling, it goes one line at a time, it actually isn’t possible to control it one line at a time. The minimal amount it will scroll with slow fingers is about 6 lines. It should be able to control it with line (or even pixel) granularity.
I have a feeling this may be because the program isn’t reading two finger scroll properly, but instead treating it like a mouse wheel scroll. Instead, mouse wheel should be treated as a fixed two finger scroll action.
Also FWIW the scrollbar works fine (fast or slow, with fine grained control), it’s just awkward to use from a trackpad.
Also note I generally don’t have the same issue with scrolling in the “All Settings” pane
