Hi everyone,

I need some help troubleshooting an issue with my VVT control. The VVT PID seems to stop working as soon as the engine goes over 2000 RPM.

I have attached the log file to this post. Any help or insights on what might be causing this would be greatly appreciated!

it does not stop working, it just happens that your min max dc values are too small and too big it’s cant reach required value and it just stops on min or max allowed duty cycle

Thanks for the reply, I have already tested several different configurations, but the same issue keeps happening. Instantly, as soon as RPM exceeds 2000, the PID freezes/stops responding, and it only starts working again when RPM drops below 2000.

I had all kinds of issues getting my VVT stable because my engine setup is far from normal. On a hunch I decided to go for a drive, then export a log file and upload it to [gemini.google.com](http://gemini.google.com) and ask for advise on sorting out the VVT settings so it would hit the target settings properly.

Well it actually works. After about 3 of 4 log uploads, gemini worked it out for me.

Upload the log to gemini, and ask it to give you advice on how to sort out the VVT settings so the cams can hit their target advance/retard settings.

I finally found the root cause of the VVT closed-loop control disabling above 2000 RPM!

 ![image](https://europe1.discourse-cdn.com/flex013/uploads/ecumaster/original/2X/1/1ccafb02f5577241c4df65b3e3ab1818da0258bb.png)

That’s why the VVT control was shutting off so abruptly! After digging through all the settings, I finally found it.
