PMU16 came with an assortment of female terminals for the 39 pin connector. The high current terminals 211CC3S3120 (Aptiv) came with a piece of paper that says they are for 12-10 AWG wire, the spec sheet for these terminals from Aptiv (Delphi) also states a max of 10 AWG wire. However the 39 pin connector (PPI0000108 Aptiv) states a max of 14 AWG wire. The PMU has ten 25 amp cont rated connections which I believe requires a 10 AWG wire. The 10 gage wire does not physically fit into the 39 Pin connector. I have tired GXL and TXL 10 gage wire and have no success fitting this wire into the 39 pin connector. What are other doing to solve this issue?
tefzel, insulation is much thinner.
What load do you have that requires a 10 awg? depending on run length and duty it probably doesn’t need a 10 awg
The main question is, will you have a constant load of 25 A?
If not, you don’t need a wire for it.
Wire has to be sized for the load, not the output capabilities.
But you can use 14 AWG wire for constant 25 A.
Its a 13 cont amp load for each fuel pump but each pump is on a separate channel at 10 -12 ft (trunk to dash). The fan is a little higher i think around 20 amps but its PWM so not continuous.
Thanks for the reply, I also messaged ECU Master and they confirmed 10 AWG wont fit in the connector, the max is 12 AWG and said it will support 25 amps so Im gonna go with the 12 AWG.
