Knocking or not?

Since logiing for my idling issues ive noticed knock detection, and therefore the car pulling timing etc. However im not all to convinced its genuine knock, car was professionally mapped always ran on fresh 98, plugs and pistons look fine, addtionally log looks in oreder to me ref afr etc… ive attached a pull in 4th log

How did you calibrate the knock sensor?

The mapper set that up, ive not dabbled with it at all… that said im pretty sure it was ok when it left him. since then ive replaced the itg sausge style filter with a proper carbon airbox which i would of assumed if anything would help agaisnt knock as ait are now lower

Pull timing (around 5 to 10 degrees) and throw the highest octane gasoline in u can get. If it is still there ur calibration is just bad…if gone it was knock.

Noone can say if it is knock or not by just looking at an emu log.

I have similar question already
16,5 deg vs 12,5 deg. Is it possible that after changing from gtx3071 0,63 to 3076 0,82 I had to retard ignition that much or its problem somewhere else? (also changed injectors from 440 to 630cc.)
Didnt prove it with earplugs but looks like a knock at 16deg.

It seems your front knock sensor is not work (1-3 cyl), because flat line.

Do not forget for base tests as check ignition timing with strob light - lock ign angle, check it on idle and slow rev up to rev limiter your engine to check correct your hardware latency or not.

on the picture we can see that noise gone at 6100 rpm, but if you have doubts - check all, include even fuel pressure at boost, piping leakeage test and so on.

I’ve checked my previous setup and I had 19deg there without knocking (confirmed with audio also).
So I dont believe now that its knocking on 16deg and stops at 12-13. Must be engine noise and too much gain /integrator imo. Looks like the only way again to be sure is to record/ check/ add 1deg/ record/check/ add 1deg, etc.

1-3 was disconnected because I hada jack wired to it in past.

I hope my settings are just wrong.

@Cupcake You knock level threshold on idle, is set to almost zero… So Its reasonable for it to show you that is knocking since its set so low…
Additionally an engine would never knock on idle, let alone with -5 Deegrees of ignition advance…
