Accel Enrichment / Async Enrichment

Struggling with cruise related enrichment settings on V3, and would love someone to take a look at what i’ve got here in the settings.

V2 I had this car absolutely dialed in, but since converting to V3, i’m still getting a consistent lean stumble in the 15% tps range, between 1800 and 2500rpm. It’s the super slow throttle applications (<10%/s) that cause the lean condition - faster TPS inputs result in crisp engine response.

If I crank the enrichment settings up for that <10%/s range, bumps in the road (or a shaky foot) cause constant enrichment activations which leave me in the 0.7 lambda range in cruise.

Raising the enrichment min value above 10%/s means big lean spots on small tip-ins.

I’m unable to get a smooth cruise condition with the async enrichment turned down much lower than 20%/s. Adjusting the TPS sensitivity and rate up/down hasn’t proved successful either.

I’ve gone around in circles for weeks on this one, adding, subtracting and messing with settings in weird ways to experiment with how V3 works - so feel free to tell me i’m way off the mark here. I’m keen to learn, so don’t be shy with feedback to help me get on track.

Attached the latest file, and a log of a commute which will show all the other data in the file - I appreciate the help!

I had similar issues and in the end i switched to map rate based enrichment and could achiev good results. It replaces the none linear tps factor to the linear map rate factor. Therefore it is much easier to tune. I think u should give this a try.

But what definitly is wrong in ur config is:

at higher rate u need more…not reveresed.

What i also learned is…don’t try to chase all little short lean spots. If the lean spot is rare, very short, in a not too high load and the engine feels/responds well….just keep it.

Appreciate the reply! I’ll give the MAP based version a try, I did do this briefly and it drove well, but the “TPS (Recommended)” comment from ECUmaster made me think surely I’m missing something.

I’ll swap that async enrichment over too, and tune out the rich spike I get under high acceleration rates, in another area :+1:

also good advice. To clarify, I’m not worried about the visual lean spots on my guage/log - the motor physically stumbles at these low tps rates, and affects the ‘gentlemanly’ driveability of my 180sx

Make sure your VE table is correct in this region.

Thanks Jadzwin, I’ll go back through the lower rpm cells in steady state and make sure they’re dialed.

Do they look like they’re out of spec in the VE map?

I had the same issue with V3. Changed to MAP based and it was a night and day difference between driving.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions - a couple hours spent yesterday on MAP based enrichment, tweaking the VE table and a few other small changes to overrun settings resulted in the most gentlemanly 180sx to ever hit the streets :+1:

For others facing the same issues - I highly recommend trying MAP based enrichment. Instant improvement!
