Here’s my video of me trying to clean up my chassis harness in my AE86: AE86 Restoration | Cleaning Up OEM Wire Harnesses PT. 2
Basically after the shop swapped my 4AC engine out of my AE86 SR5 with a K24A2, I was left with a lot of OEM wires and connectors that were no longer being used, so I decided to rip them out and along the way, kind of realized that maybe I should just start over from scratch with all the wiring and using a PDM instead of all the stock relay boxes and +30 year old stuff.
I already have the engine harness part done for the most part which will connect to my Hondata KPro V4 ECU + PowerTune digital dash + CAN I/O Extender.
Will a PDM help me simplify down the electrical components in my AE86? Any recommendations on a product from ECUMaster that I should use to get all my electronics working? Should I be making Deustche connects off the stock OEM connects that will connect to the new harness that will be made for my car? I’m a beginner at this and I’d love to pay someone to do this for me, but it’s hard finding an expert at this, so maybe I’ll try learning how to do it myself or with help of some friends. Any guidance will be appreciated.
I’m located in Vancouver, WA, so if anyone in the PNW has anyone who can do the job, please let me know. Thank you.
