I’m having an issue with the instrument cluster in this car. Whoever installed the EMU split the crankshaft position sensor signal between the EMU Classic and the stock ECU. The cluster operates on the J1850 protocol. Right now, the tachometer isn’t working properly; it kicks in above 2,000 RPM but jumps around constantly and doesn’t display the correct speed. At low RPM, the needle stays at the very bottom. Revving the engine brings the tachometer to life, but only for a second. I suspect the signal going to the stock ECU is being interfered with. Otherwise, the engine runs perfectly. Does anyone have a proven solution for this car that they’d be willing to share?
where you connect your rpm gauge?
The tachometer is connected to the stock engine control unit via J1850 communication.
Hi
we are on final phase of testing our adaptor with this comunicaton implemented ( odometer left to validate)
i think in week or two we will have ready adapter for this car ( ecumaster UK/RRR)
