I am fairly new to tuning and have been working on this project since last November. I have been reading everything I can find and watching every training video I can. I finally have my SC300 running at idle. I suppose that is the good news. The problem I am having is that I have a rough idle with a target AFR that is bouncing around and dwell errors. I am not getting any trigger errors and the scope chart seems to show the cam and crank triggers not being on top of each other.
I have flattened out the VE and AFR tables all around idle trying to get rid of the bounce. PID is not turned on. No luck.

Well, I found the problem. For some reason, my EMU client is reading VE from VE Table #1, but is pulling the Target AFR and Ignition from AFR Table #2 and Ignition Table #2? I have no idea why. Now that I know this, I was able to get things smoothed out. I have been beating my head against the screen for weeks trying to figure this out. My son drops by and says why don’t you see if the #2 tables change things. As soon as I made a change, it worked.
I still seem to have a miss and some dwell error, but I can get the idle smoothed out and the AFR looking better.
I finally ended up putting the Mark IV ECU I was running previously back in the car to see if the mis was mechanical or something in my EMU tune. When the car first started on the old ECU, it was missing for a few moments and then I reved it just a little and it kind of coughed and then the mis just disapeared. I pulled the old ECU out and put back in the EMU and everything is running great. I have a super smoth idle and no misses or stumbling. I finally started tuning the VE table. Thank goodness.
