I think the alternator controll may need some improovements….First one is the base DC doesnt work, strategy doesnt use PWM1 table nor base DC from Alternator Parameters menu
I verified and alternator control strategy works as expected.
It doesnt use PWM table values. It just uses PWM oputput functionality and assigned output
Thank You Jakub! But Did you check also inverted output strategy? Can You see I set 70% as Base DC and still get 50% on engine startup what produces 15+ volt spikas that may damage my li-ion battery…also DC if inactive From PWM1 Parametes menu doesnt work to me still get 0% if inactive
No parameters from PWM setup except frequency and output work.
I will take a look for inverted output.
Allringt but the Base DC from Alternator parameters menu may work for cases once PID no active as on startup?
When the engine is not running 100% PWM is applied (or 0% if you invert the output).
I think it is a problem. For next build 3.061 it will be changed. When the state will inactive or cranking, the PID will be disabled, and the base DC will be applied to PWM output.
Great appreciate that ![]()
Hi,
I am currently trying to achieve alternator control on a Mazda NC 2.0 engine with Mitsubishi alternator .
I have tried different outputs to control the regulator, but with no success …. it seems that this regulator need too much current that the different outputs can’t control ( even H-bridge, when not connected, shows battery voltage, and the right DC, but as soon as I connect it to the alternator, voltage drops very low ! )
To be sure that this alternator is really functional, I’ve triggered with a flying wire with a 5w bulb, this has raised the voltage to 16v directly , so alt is OK
Could somebody point me in the right direction to a solution for that ?
Thanks
Jean
P.S. excuse me for my bad english ![]()
Try to look this topic:
Hi ,
I’ve read this topic before to ask for help ![]()
I’ve tried a similar setup on Black V3, with H-bridge output, and the result is that it seems to pull too much current, this cause the ecu to shut this output ??? If i do off/on I have a nice signal again on this output …. So to prevent from a failure i’ve decided to ask for advice
Thanks in advance
Jean
I never seen alternator requires high current to controll…must be HW or SW issue…post alternator type, config, drawing etc and maybe we figure out whats wrong
