Would like the OPTION to view Pressures in PSI and IN-hg ( vacuum) just like most analog gauges that people use, i have requested this for years and would like to have the option for it since my secondary physical gauges are also reading this way it will be easier to compare at a glance especially for users in America.
I can understand your desire for this feature but (and any of the devs can correct me here) I’d guess that the change would require a fundamental redesign of the software and/or a massive runtime investment which would make the whole thing worse overall. Getting used to the units was an adjustment for me when I migrated to ECUMaster but wholly worth it.
You probably already know this, but for approximate on the fly conversions (to compare with your other gauges) bar to PSI just multiply by 15 (1bar ~ 15PSI) and for kPa to in-hg divide by 3 (1kPa ~ 1/3in-hg).
no it wouldnt require a massive redesign. the bit value will just have a different calculation, but you need to make an additional drop down choice in the General Options menu on the configuration to choose more units, besides metric and imperial…
I don’t think you’ve thought about this enough. It certainly isn’t as easy as changing a value and adding a drop down to select units. Not an exhaustive list but you would need to recode and debug changes to tables, logs, and gauges, and also change any calculations that use the values. So many man hours for a small team that already do so much for all of us, for no real benefit.
And learning is part of life - Embrace the units
