WHP GPS Speed Sensor / CAN Stream Issue

ECU: ECUMaster EMU Black
Firmware: v3.059

Hi,

Here my setup:

  • WHP GPS Speed Sensor connected to the EMU Black VSS input, with a 0.72 ratio applied, as per their instructions
  • Dash mounted Android tablet running eDash and RealDash (testing both)
  • The tablet is connected to the EMU with the CAN Bus Bluetooth Adapter

The problem is that the Vehicle Speed is displayed correctly in the V3 software, but when viewing it on the dash, both eDash and RealDash display really high values. To correct this on the RealDash, I applied 0.25x to the value and it was spot on (meaning it’s displaying 4x the actual speed).

I thought this was an issue with RealDash, but eDash does the same thing, leading me to believe it’s an issue with the CAN stream. Can anyone verify or assist?

Could you try using EMU Black V3 Firmware 3.064 or later?

From eDash manual:

My apologies. I’m on the latest version, 3.065b. Although the issue was still present on the previous version.

If you use edl please install firmware 1.26

No, I’m not using the EDL. The connection:

EMU Black ->CAN BT Module (CAN H/CAN L) ->Android Tablet (eDash)

It will be fixed in 3.066 version.
