1MZ-FE stalls (EMU BLACK V3)

I have a 1991 MR2 SW20 with a 2005 1MZFE VVTi and DBW, which was tuned about 2 years
ago on the V3 beta with a professional tuner; ever since then, I’ve been having a constant problem
with the engine stalling—that is, when, for example, I’m engine braking or approaching
a roundabout or intersection, when I let off the gas, the engine doesn’t go into idle but
simply stalls, or tries to settle at around 200–300 RPM and either
stalls completely or comes back to life. From what I’ve
noticed, this happens regardless of the circumstances—right after starting, when the engine is hot,
when it’s cold outside, when it’s warm, etc.
The wiring harness has been checked, and the software has also been checked.
Corrections were made and still nothing.
EMU Black ECU.

The engine is stock, the throttle body is original Toyota, the pedal is also original Toyota
OEM 78110-42030, Bosch LSU 4.9 oxygen sensor—everything is assembled from sensors
on new parts. The wiring harness is stock as far as the engine is concerned;
I’ve checked over a dozen spots and found nothing.
I’m attaching a screnshot from log (I can’t upload file because I’m new user - I had the account for some time already); the engine stalled at 10:40. From what I can see, the idle control didn’t kick in on time (I think), but I have no idea how to fix it. Has anyone had a similar problem and be able to help? I’ll add that there’s no clutch-in-press sensor on the clutch, if that matters. Would adding such a sensor and programming it make a difference?

I have to add, Idle on if MAP over is already set to 0.

Log and project are available under this link

Not a thing, assuming this is a typo.

Clutch pedal sensor certainly isn’t required, not even sure if it’s commonly used for idle control in any applications. Is your pps calibrated?

Yes, sorry it’s 1991 mr2, 1mz is from 2005 car. I think my PPS is calibrated, it’s reading well, you see in the log that PPS dropped to 0 or so which is true (I have let off my gas pedal) for some reason the idle control hasn’t switched on.

Can you please attach the latest map file?

if you say idle on map is already set to 0 seems like the ECU has not picked this up.

Hi, yes you are right, I have missed that and looked onto empty project with that value set to 0 and I thought everything is okay, now I have changed it to 10 and did a test drive and everything seemed to be okay. Will do more driving and see if that works. Will get back to that in a couple of days. Thanks!

Okiee! :+1:

I had to read your post like three times and edit my comments at least 2 times hahaha

but glad the issue is found.

Sorry if I didn’t explain something clearly, my english is not best in case of that ecumaster/engine tuning terminology. This problem was happening all the time and now I’d had enough and decided to look a bit more into it. I hope that solved my issue, will do more test driving.
