Hey everyone,
I’m working on a 1994 JZA80 Supra with a 2JZ-GE non-VVTi using the factory distributor and igniter, running an ECUMaster EMU Black on V3 software.
Current issue:
-
No spark from the igniter
-
BUT I do see spark count / ignition activity in the EMU software
Setup Details
Factory Toyota ECU wiring:
-
Pin 57 – Red/White – IGT (ignition trigger)
-
Pin 58 – Red/Yellow – IGF (feedback)
-
Pin 27 – Black – NE (crank signal)
-
Pin 26 – G1 (cam sync)
-
Pin 25 – G2 (cam sync)
-
Pin 77 – STA (starter signal)
Current EMU Black wiring:
-
Ignition Output 1 → Toyota pin 57 (IGT, Red/White)
-
Primary trigger → Toyota pin 27 (NE)
-
Cam sync → G1 / G2
-
IGF (pin 58) not used
-
STA (pin 77) not currently used
Current Behavior
-
ECU powers on normally
-
RPM is detected
-
Sync is detected
-
Spark count is visible in software (so ECU is calculating ignition events)
-
No physical spark at the igniter / coil
Problem
Even though the ECU is clearly calculating ignition (spark count visible), there is:
No output at the igniter (no spark at all)
Questions
-
Is Toyota pin 57 (IGT) correctly wired to EMU Black Ignition Output 1 for distributor setups?
-
Should IGF (pin 58) be connected to anything on EMU, or left floating?
-
Is STA (pin 77) required for proper ignition output during cranking?
-
What is the correct configuration for:
-
Spark distribution (Distributor vs other modes)
-
Coil type (with built-in amplifier vs other)
-
Trigger edge settings for NE / G signals
-
-
Has anyone successfully run a 2JZ-GE distributor on EMU Black V3 and can confirm working settings?
Note
I’m new on here so I can’t upload my tune file or screenshots yet, but I can provide any values or settings manually if needed.
Any help from someone who has done a 2JZ-GE distributor setup on EMU Black would be hugely appreciated.
Thanks.
