Attached is a log of my engine idling and having issues with cam tooth trigger sync. This setup worked fine for several tuning sessions and is now not functioning correctly and i can’t figure out why. Hoping you guys might be able to help. Its very hit or miss, sometimes it counts 24 (12t/1t) and sometimes it will count anywhere from 19-23 erratically. I have tried smaller and larger gap with the hall effect sensors, rising and falling edge, tested the sensor, isolated it from other electronic components nearby that could be interfering. Im really not sure whats going on. Talked with the company that sells the kit (sr fab) and they arent sure either.
setup as follows -
7mgte
emu black
sr fab 12t crank and 1t cam hall effect sensor kit
1zz coils
bosch 1000cc injectors
various other modifications unrelated to this issue
Any input is appreciated,
Did you figure it out, as I have the same kit with tooth count and may run into the same issue
Turns out the reluctor wheel on the crank hub was loose and intermittently moving around, usually under load. I talked to sr fab and this has not been an issue for them prior. I think this issue started when I first fired up my engine and had a bad timing belt that walked around. Changed the belt and it didnt walk around anymore. I think the original bad timing belt put axial pressure on the reluctor wheel and began pushing it off, then load/ vibrations caused it to move around causing my trigger issues.
Did the belt fix this or did you need a new reluctor wheel/crank pulley? I’m having a very similar issue with the SR Fab kit… keeps dropping sync, and seems to be the cam sensor. I too had a walking timing (gates) belt initially on startup - changed to an OEM black belt with new tensioner and keep having sync issues.
