Adu7 + abs vr sensor for vss

Hello.

I am trying to get abs vr sensor from bmw e46 to work with adu to get vss input.

I cant figure out what I am missing.

I did connect it like in manual says, signal wire to ground via 200ohm resistor and other wire to +12 of sensor. Also tried connecting signal wire to adu directly and other wire to signal ground.

I have also tried swaping sensor pins around, cant get input to work.

measuring with multimeter I see that sensor works, it generates ~0.15v when I spin the wheel by hand.

I have tried to enable internal pullup, threshold voltage set from 0,1 to 2,5v and all king of divider and multiplier settings.

It is connected to D1 pin 33, maybe it should be connected to D2 or other pin ? This is what I have not tried yet.

I have connected also ecu via AIM serial, and I can get ecu.speed from it, but cant moddify adu.distancemeter to read correctly, maybe this is conflicting with my input also ?

Hi, E46 has two types of wheel speed sensors: one early one is VR and the other is MR. I think you have VR, so it is directly connected to the sensor ground and input.

make sure you have the threshold set correctly and bear in mind voltage is higher for higher wheel revolution so on wheel speed near zero voltage threshold need ot be set very low

Threshold voltage of 0,51 could be too low, thus it would not read also ?

As I said, i tried a lot of settings, including threshold voltages of 0,1/0,2/0,3/0,4/1/1,5/2/2,5
By manual it looks simple, but somehow it does not.

Update:

I have solved my issues with vr sensor.

Settings were correct from the get go. Issue was with custom wheel hub disk with teeth. it was cloked a bit wrong due to space restrains and was too far away from sensor.

So now that sorted it reads the signal. But it does not affect adu.distancemeter. Where or how to define to use this input as speed input and calculate distance acordingly ?

in the config tab, you can define what should be the odometer source.
