I am planning an ecu swap for a S50B30 engine. This was the first of the Euro spec M3 engines. It used a separate ecu and vanos controller.
It has 3 cam sensors, to the OEM ECU one cam sensor on the intake (vanos cam) that is pined to the chain pully so it does not advance, they used this for the home sync.
It then has a 8 tooth exhaust cam trigger and an N+1 trigger for the vanos cam.
I am trying to figure out what cam sensors i need to use do i just need the N+1 or do i need the 1 pulse sync also?
Any help or even a base map will be of help.
