Has anyone had experience with the EMU Black?
My Clio 3 RS has the keyless entry/start system. When I press the start button, the engine fires up fine, but when I press it again to turn it off, the instrument cluster shuts down but the engine keeps running... The Plug & Play kit I have installed is from RRR.
Also, does anyone have a map available for version v3? When migrating the map from version v2 to v3, the engine ended up running on only 2 cylinders 😐.
Also, I'm trying to map the original functions—like cruise control, the ESP button, etc.—but no one knows which inputs to assign. Is there a more detailed manual on how to do this? Do you have a base map with these functions already assigned?
yes i’ve been using the RRR “plug and play” setup with a keyless clio 3rs since 2024. as for “retains all oem functions” its far from it.. i’ve had numerous issues but not the one you have above.. did you have this issue with v3 or v2? i’ve not tried v3.
cruis control could be implemented but you’ll need additional inputs. the emu black doesnt have any spare with the plug and play kit so you’d have to get the can switch board i/o expander, wire the cruise control buttons to that and program accordingly. ESP switch is can switch 3 on v2.179 (still not available to download on the test versions site) or if you have v3.065 or newer it’s can switch 19. there is no proper documentations out there apart from a simple 2 page functions assignment datasheet on rrr website. do you have Renault Clio 3 selected in CAN, Serial > CAN >- CAN Bus dashboard? send a link to your config or attach to a reply if you want…
Virtual switches and can bus are not connecter to hardwired adaptor. Cruie control yes problem is lack of inputs adding analogue to can board inside would probably rise price for an extra £110 . Which we have found out most customers rather save that and not use cruise control.
And yes v3 has some inprovents on can but for that car.
just needs setting up in the config. ac pressure sensor, if using the rrr p&p kit should be analog input #4. AC pressure cal table, set mine up so that 0kPa is 0.22v and 3400kPa is 4.51v. Then need to set up Outputs - AC clutch. Activation input is CAN SW2 and clutch output set to CAN-Bus. The rest of the parameters you set to your preference. Min and Mac ac pressure is important. You dont want the compressor running to infinity so set my Max AC pressure to cut out when pressure sensor reads 1500kPa. Also dont want it activating if pressure it too low so set my Min AC pressure to 150kPa. I also went in to Outputs - Coolant Fan and ticked turn on when AC active. Also went in to Idle settings and added 60rpm to AC idle increase value. I also added some Idle - AC Correction based on coolant temp. I went for 3% DC correction from -30C to 120C. This is by no means a how-to and how you set up yours is entirely your choice. I have no idea if that is the right or wrong way to do it, but got it working for me.
something to note that caught me out - When you press the AC button on the clio dash, the reassurance light comes on to suggest it is active, but you need to have blower set to at least level 1 for the canbus signal to transmit to the emublack via CAN SW2.
setting up the AC cal table was the tricky bit. Had no known figures to use to had to work it out myself. Lucky a family member is AC engineer so what we did was vacuumed out the system, then pressurised the system with nitrogen in increments using gauges to measure pressures and used that to work out the different pressure levels using the returned sensor voltages.
