Creep - the PQ35 type

I have DQ500 in my car and am using the R32BUB/Audi TT model ECU.

My engine idles nicely around 600-750 rpm pending temperature and I’m happy with that. When I pull it into gear, the PQ35 creep of 150 RPM (max 1000 rpm) immediately increases the RPM.

Two scenarios.

  1. If I pull it into gear and immediately let go of the brake, the engine speed increases nicely and the car smoothly enters creep state and rolls out smoothly.
  2. I am stationary, car in D gear, foot on the brake and I let off the brake. The engine speed was already increases, and the DSG begins to engage the clutch but often does it too quickly and RPM drops. Sometimes the clutch will disengage to prevent stall and it tries again.

Now when driving my wife’s new Hyundai Santa-Fe with 8 speed DSG, the creep mode only engages on that car when your foot comes off the brake pedal.

Is it possible to configure the R32BUB/Audi TT ecu to only command extra engine RPM when the BRAKE signal is disengaged? I think this would modernize the feel of the car to drive given I don’t have the engine idling at 1000 RPM at the lights loudly, when it could be much more sedate at 600 rpm.

  • DSG target RPM increase during creep now takes brake pedal state into account.

Huge improvement. Just did the update. Massive improve to standing start movement and drivability.
