Egt sensor 1.8t implement

Hello! Today i have installed egt sensor 06A919529 om from 1.8t bam. There is by any chance a way to implement to use this sensor ? Currently using pin 13 ( from egt1 ) Or if possible to give me any advice to map it. I really don t want to modify again the exhaust in order to attach the egt probe .. :frowning:

Thank you in advance !

Looks like it has some kind of thermocouple amplifier already built in so maybe it’s a pulsed output or analog output of some type

It’s 3 pins

Do you have a factory wiring diagram showing how those pins are wired at least? You will need to power it the same the factory then possibly scope or measure the output pin.

If it’s a simple 0-5v output then it can go into any Analog input on the ECU

If it’s a pulsed output of type then that gets a little more complicated

Hello, this is all the informations that i’ve got regarding the sensor :
FB GGATS 1.40 Functional Description
Calculation of the exhaust gas temperature, provision of the signals required for diagnostics.

Principle:

========
The exhaust gas temperature sensor delivers a pulse-width modulated signal with a fixed period. The current exhaust gas temperature can be determined from the duty cycle
of the signal.

GGATS: Overview

================
The flag B_atsb indicates that the exhaust gas temperature sensor is ready for operation. This is the case after the engine has finished starting (B_stend=1), since the sensor is then supplied with voltage, and when the battery voltage exceeds a minimum voltage required for the sensor (B_ubats=1). The B_ubats flag is reset with a delay of TVUBATS to prevent triggering emergency measures (in boost pressure control) during sporadic battery voltage drops.

GGATSTA: Duty Cycle Calculation

The pulse-width modulated (active high) signal P_ats from the exhaust gas temperature sensor is evaluated. The capture-compare unit (CC unit) provides the pulse width (high time) tcchats and the period tccpats of the PWM signal. Dividing tcchats / tccpats yields the current unfiltered duty cycle taatsr. The duty cycle is filtered to suppress interference pulses.

The filtered duty cycle is taats. The period tpats can be output directly. If the signal at port P_ats is constantly low or constantly high, the CC unit delivers the high time tcchats = 0 and the period tccpats = 0. In this case, to distinguish between duty cycles of 0% and 100%, port P_ats must also be queried. In both cases, the target period TPATS is output as the period tpats. This prevents the erroneous detection of an incorrect period in the exhaust gas temperature sensor diagnostics (%DATS).

The evaluation of the exhaust gas temperature sensor Bank 2 is performed in the same way.

GGATSNL: Exhaust Gas Temperature Calculation

The exhaust gas temperature is calculated using a characteristic curve TABGTA, in which the exhaust gas temperature characteristic is stored as a function of the duty cycle.

If an exhaust gas temperature sensor fails in a two-bank system, the value of the still functioning sensor is output as a substitute value. If both sensors fail, the exhaust gas temperature from the exhaust gas temperature model tabgm is output.

If the exhaust gas temperature sensor fails in a single-bank system, the system immediately switches to the substitute value from the exhaust gas temperature model.

FTAATS(2): Duty Cycle Filtering

The duty cycle is filtered by change limiting. In each calculation step, the change between the new unfiltered duty cycle taatsr and the old filtered duty cycle taats is calculated. The change is limited to the applicable threshold DTAATSMN. To calculate the new filtered duty cycle taats, the limited change is then added to the old filtered duty cycle.
Standard Mapping :

If i can find anything related to the pins i will post here
