EMU Pro and a Mini Cooper power steering pump?

Long time listener, first time caller.

I’m building a pretty absurd ‘72 Cadillac with an EMU Pro 16 and PMU 24 (and a few other things). I have a power steering pump from a 2002-2008 Mini Cooper that I’m going to be using. I know I can send 12v to one pin and it will activate in ‘limp home mode’ and that they used k-bus to send speed signals to the power steering pump so I think I have a solution there with a combination of ESP32-S3, a MCP2515 and a MCP2004 and some rather creative message masquerading. This car is immense and heavy and I’d really rather it not be in high speed on the power steering pump above a certain speed so I’d like to figure this out.

I just saw that there is a Cooper interface from ECUMaster and was wondering if there was some native support without having to McGuyver some bonkers solutions.

Any thoughts?

There is no direct support for this pump. None of our ECUs support K-line communication to regulate the pump speed. The pump works in the limp mode after the alternator is starting to charge.
