Need help about wiring

Hello.
I am new here.

I bought the EMU BLACK.

I wanted to connect it to a 12V power source to check that it worked before installing it in my car.

However, it didn’t work. I couldn’t connect it using the PC software.

I connected 12V to pin 13 and ground to pin 28.

I tried connecting it to my PC via USB, but it didn’t connect. Is there something I’m doing wrong?

Do all grounds, including the power ground, have to be connected to ground?

The minimal wiring configuration is described in the Hardware Manual (page 7):

You lack the +12V Switched connection.
