Hi, I’m having a few issues with the new software.
I cannot get the video to sync with the ADU log data. I’m using the sync function and get it bang on but once I click accept it jumps back a few seconds. It appears to add a blank section of video at the start when doing so.
It seems to the zone with channels should be set by size, I don’t understand why it on the third of the screen.
For one graph Min and Max applies for the Unit of data, but it seems a mistake, because there are lots of data without Unit and its problem to display them as you wish (you can see AFR without Unit and if you create math channel without Unit, and that is why it can’t be measured by separate axis… I add MHz and A for math channels, just to solve the problem) - my opinion it should be applied for the every Channel separately (if it is no autoscale chosed)
if you select a channel, RMB and try to delete this channel - the first in list channel will be deleted, but if you press delete button on the keybord - the selected channel will be deleted
I would like an opportunity to scroll the log by the mouse wheel, it seems there is should be an option to choose what should do mouse wheel size or scroll.
May be it be useful for new channels added - give them random colors, not only yellow. I noticed that DM remember which color the channel on other sheets. But may be more useful for new sheet new colors, or another way. Because for now when you drop in chart 3-4 channels - its a mesh of yellow lines, and it takes a time to click for every channel, choose a color.
Thanks for reaching out! I checked this on my PC and wasn’t able to reproduce the issue. Just to make sure everything’s set up correctly, please follow these steps:
Thanks a lot for your feedback! See my answers below
– It seems the channel zone should be resizable. I don’t understand why it only takes up a third of the screen.
That’s a good point — we’ll work on a solution for that.
– For one graph, Min and Max apply to the unit of the data, but this causes issues. Some data (like AFR) doesn’t have units, and math channels without units can’t be displayed on separate axes. I’ve been adding MHz or A to workaround this. I think each channel should have its own Min/Max (when autoscale is off).
There’s no one-size-fits-all solution here. If every channel had its own axis, it could get tedious to set ranges and compare similar data (like Lambda vs. Lambda Target). It’s not a mistake — just the direction we chose.
– If you select a channel, right-click, and try to delete it — the first channel in the list is deleted. But if you press the Delete key, it correctly deletes the selected one.
That’s definitely a bug. We’ll fix that in the next build.
– I’d like to scroll through the log with the mouse wheel. Maybe there could be an option to choose what the wheel does (zoom or scroll)?
Okay, we can add an option for that.
– It might be helpful to assign random colors to new channels instead of always using yellow. I noticed DM remembers colors across sheets, but it’d be nice if each new sheet got fresh colors. Right now, dropping in 3–4 channels gives you a mess of yellow lines, and changing each one takes time.
Good idea — we’ll look into improving that behavior.
– And my dream feature: histograms. Super useful.
There’s already a histogram panel. Is there something specific you’d like to see added or changed about it?
As for me, this direction with one scale for the same Units is wrong
For example, I put in one chart short term trim and VE, they are in %
For the ve I would like scale lets say 50-150, and math chanel for right VE calculated by the DM with the same scale
And for Short term trim I would like to set -20-20 but i can’t
May be I do wrong something?
I’ll look better for histograms, thanks, and then give my feedback
At the moment, this is one of the limitations of the system. However, we’ve chosen this approach because, in most scenarios, having a unified scale for the same unit brings clarity and helps with quick visual comparison — for example, comparing Lambda and Lambda Target, or RPM and RPM Target etc.
That said, you’re not doing anything wrong — it’s just how the system currently works. We’ll keep this use case in mind for future improvements.
Yes, I’ve given this a lot of time and just when I get the video close it shifts everything.
The auto sync feature is just under a second out, not sure why.
So I moved to very powerful i9 processor computer to see if this would help but even this still crashes.
Also when trying to sync the video manually, when I press the - sec / + sec button it skips the video back to the start each time. I’m finding it nearly impossible to sync the rest of my sessions.
Thanks for the update, and sorry to hear the issues are still ongoing. I was on sick leave last week, so I appreciate your patience.
I understand that the synchronization problem is making it nearly impossible to work with your sessions, and that’s definitely frustrating. However, you only sent the .adulog files – to investigate properly, I’ll need the video files you were trying to sync as well. Please upload them using a file sharing service like WeTransfer and send me the link.
From what you’re describing, it sounds like the issue is more likely related to the video files themselves rather than your hardware – especially since you’re now running an i9 machine and still experiencing crashes. Just to clarify: are both of the computers you’re using running Windows 11?
Once I have the video files, I’ll take a closer look and do my best to help resolve this quickly
