Hi I am working on tuning an engine for the first time on EMU PRO8, I am working on a 2.0L Turbo Saab Engine, right now I am running into an issue were the engine won’t rev past an X number of rpm, most of the time between 3,000 and 4,000 rpm, looking at the log it seems like the rev limiter behavior might be coincidental with manifold pressures exceeding 100KPa, the rev limiter shows inactive since it is set up to 6000 rpm, and I can’t seem to see anything commanding either fuel or spark cut, I would really appreciate if anybody could help me trying to understand what could be the source of this problem, I wanted to share the log file but it says that new users can’t attach files, are there any alternatives to be able to share the log file?
You can check channels called “Engine Cylinders Cut” and “Fuel cut source”.
Another thing to check is trigger errors, such as “Trigger Primary Unexpected missing teeth”.
It can also be a rich misfire, as Greg mentioned.
Yep I agree it was very rich, also my first TDC angle was 15 degrees off, the ECU wasn’t commanding any cuts, and seems like the rich misfire theory might be correct, I am using a system that detects when combustion happens and sends a digital pulse (Digital 3 and 4) you would typically see two green pulses followed by two pink pulses evenly spaced, but in this condition most of the time you end up with gaps indicating misfires, ever since I posted this I have made improvements on the fueling and ignition maps and got it to reach 5,000 rpm I will keep making improvements on the maps and report findings
Screen shot before fixing the fuel map, it will only rev to 3200ish, multiple misfire events happening in different cylinders
