V3 Rev Limit Target

I’m trying to convert over from V2.169 to V3.061 and am a bit stuck on the rev limiter. I see in the help menu it references the Target RPM but an not sure where that is set. I cant find a tab for the target just the coolant ethanol iat ect. Am I overlooking it or is it setup differently than I am thinking?

Use CLT rev limiter table as your primary rev limiter RPM target.

The startegy will always choose the lowest RPM limit value based on all RPM limits table.

There is also fuel cut RPM limit defined in Fueling / fuel cut.

This is fixed and it is last protection to prevent engine from ovverrev.

It should be set as maximum allowable RPM for the engine.

i’also struggling with my rev limiter.

you said that the fuel cut target should be set as the maximum allowable engine rpm, but in the help on the side in V3 it says;

“The maximum RPM value for Fuel Cut should be set lower than the value specified in the Rev Limiter strategy.”

I want a limiter that starts limiting at 7300 with no pops and bangs, with 7600 as maximum engine speed. This is my setup, and on last test it definately had pops and bangs..

It also seems to cut a bit too soon, is there some other menu I overlooked that might do spark cut?

Thank you for pointing this out. It is wrong information. Should be HIGHER not lower.

The help will be updated for next build.

Always check Rev limiter target and rev limiter source to see what is the target and what table / strategy (eg. LC) force it. In the next build there are some changes added to make pops and bangs easier (hysteresis + fuel enlinment)

Thanks, with that corrected i proceeded to a new test, and stil got cut prematurely:

I tried to add the emu3 project file as well, but it got stopped ny your filter.

you have trigger errors. It is not rev limite

Completely right, a 10k resistor in series with primary trigger fixed it.:slightly_smiling_face:
