I have some strange behaviour from the speedometer output. When the car is not driving (and even engine not running) and so there is no input from the speed sensor, there is an output of a square wave with around 2 Hz.
When the car drives, the output frequency changes according to speed and the speedometer works correctly.
Any ideas what could cause this?

Unfortunately not. You have the same issue?
i havent scoped yet, but i have orginal toyota digital dash and it shows 1km/h when car is not driving so something is going on from that output.
I have almost the same problem , where the the speed gauge wil just jump randomly when the engine is idle or just switched on, but works perfect when driving, using emu classic
