A Honda tuner we met at the event is trying to configure Ignition Table 2 to blend with Flex Fuel and use table 2 with different values when VTEC is active. He states he normally changes Ignition in Hondata/K-Pro when VTEC is active for more power.
After helping him with this, I see his only option would be an ignition correction table to be able to achieve this. Would this be correct?
You can blend with ethanol or switch *using VTEC. There are only two ignition tables available. For the functionality you want, you would need four ign tables. As a workaround, you can use a custom correction that activates when VTEC is engaged, or you can adjust ignition timing as a function of RPM, ethanol percentage, and load.
I’m on V2 not sure if anything changed in V3 in this regard.
What I did knowing were VTEC crossover is, I defined the ignition values from vtec in Ignition Table 1 from that specific rpm x load and used Ignition table 2 to define the e85 ignition values and then describe the blend percentage between the 2 vased a n ethanol percentage.
