Hey folks, I need some help with my 2J and it’s VVT-i settings. On V3 I cannot get this thing to stop oscillating no matter what settings I try with the PID. I checked the logs from about 2 months ago when it was tuned at the dyno and the same thing. I checked the logs I had on V2, and while I don’t have any logs of it driving down the street, while revving it, it matches pretty damn good. I had transferred over the exact settings except for the cam offset which went from 570 in V2 to 404 in V3. I also noticed that in V3 the DC will never go over 47 percent no matter if i set the maximum higher or not. I don’t think anything went wrong with the solenoid between getting it started and running on V2, and being tuned on V3. The monitored PID values are for the solenoid. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

So I just got home from a drive, and I think I found the main issue, the output min/max setting. I had left it at the default since the information in the info tab is the same as the info for the integral limit min/max. I had left it at the default -8/+8.
So on my way home I set the values to -50/+50 just to see, and wow, it reacted much faster and went above the 47% DC it was stuck at before. It was still swinging back and forth over the target, but playing with the PID a bit, it was responding much better to the changes I was trying. So tomorrow I will spend a few hours with it and I’m no confident that I can get it dialed in properly. I’ll update as I go.
Ok, I got it sorted out. The main issue was the output min/max value. I also changed the steady state DC and its 95% perfect now. In fact I needed significantly much lower PID values in the end. Now it’s just a matter of fine tuning, but I’m very happy with the current results
