BMW E46 MK60, DSC activation / deactivation issues

Hello everyone,

I Have an EMU Black installed in E46 Chassis with M54 engine. This car has DSC and the MK60 ABS unit. DSC stays disabled even if i choose the E46 or E46 M3 can stream. I realize that the EMU cannot sent the wake-up signal to the MK60 so i wrote the following can message (image attached). Then the DSC started working and i have a functional stock DSC can button to enable or disable traction. The issue here is that i cannot fully disable the DSC on a long button press like stock. Is there a way to disable this can message on a long press of the DSC button to stop the wake up signal or there is another way to make it work?

Thanks, Stratos

I think I can add this wakeup message at startup (just 5 messages every 100 ms).

What you can test now is set update interval to 500ms.

do you can do this in ADU and PMU also,

eventually with a check box…if mounted to the device

thank you

Allow me please to explain better.

The DSC in E46 has two functions:

  1. Stability control
  2. Anti spin

When the can message wakes-up the MK60 unit DSC is funtional and when you single press the DSC button you can disable it partially (Anti spin-Traction from EMU) but stability control is still on.If you single press again (Anti spin-Traction from EMU) is back on.(So far everything works like stock, no issues).

In stock OEM function when you long press the DSC button to disable it fully (5 seconds or more) completely disables the DSC functions (Stability control and Anti spin is off) and you have to switch igniton off and then ignition on to make it work again.

So my conclusion is that when you long press the DSC button the can waking up signal stops the transmission so the MK60 unit shuts off completelly.

Unfortunately the car is completelly stock so i dont have this option.

As I understabd it correctly the DSC module sensds 5 RTR mesaages and ecu need to reponse with 0x610 with VIN. And then the 0x610 is never trasmitted again

I think this is the sequence.
