Hi guys, looking for some advice/guidance on what I need to check if I want to copy the map from a damaged ECU over to a new one?
History on this is I have bought a project car as a non-runner with known electrical issues. The wiring loom is in very poor condition and after many long days of trying to diagnose a no spark issue it always came back to something being wrong with the ECU, so finally decided to pop the back and found this mess:
Honestly I’m suprised that it’s been powering up and interfacing with my laptop ok with the state it’s in! I’ve been able to save the the project and want to buy a new ECU and copy this map onto it, as well as redoing the loom from scratch to remove what ever caused this damage.
Is there anything I need to check to make sure the map will be compatible with a new ECU? Currently have an EMU Black and can see it’s a bit different than those currently available as uses a micro USB instead of USB-C - is this just a superficial change?
