Dq250 DSG in manual wont change gear, DSG engage, and Idle active issue

I have a dq250 box, AQN engine full standalone in an MR2,.drives fine in reverse, drive and sport. Emublack is seeing the paddle shift, up and down in the paddles emulator, using SW2 and SW3 etc

Manual shows in the DSG modes. Yet, it won’t change gear. It holds in whatever gear it’s in.

Is there any known bug for this ? I’ll upload a map tomorrow. Latest firmware installed.

I also have a strange occurrence with the car as it slows down on the latest firmware, it drops through the gears, then seemed to blip to 1st, but I’m already slow/stationary, and it engages the clutch, throwing the car forward to stall it. This has appeared since last firmware update.

Idle won’t engage either after a rev, unless I press the brake. This also coincidentally won’t allow the box to engage from a deceleration, unless I press the brake.

Otherwise.. loving this build.

hi please post the logs when the issues happens and also post the map

I’ll post the map, and to sound like a right noob, how would I post the log.

The issue happened twice on a 2 hour drive, regards the DSG clutch engagement. I don’t want to trigger this as it tries to remove the engine from the car, it’s very violent.

The paddle shifting inputs not functioning is constant.

I do also see a “select N” option in the DSG setting when stationary is it? This I haven’t checked. This could cure the problem maybe?

The idle issue looks to be a constant, so could log that.

I am currently watchihg the outputs, and AUX 1 runs the fans.

ECU Is activating AUX 1 and other AUX channels at random. The FAN relay is buzzing quietly when not active, and buzzes loundly when activated.

I have tried alternative 0V instead of the ECU output, and the fans work fine (bypass the ECU AUX1 output).

AUX outups are logged.

Car is stationary and cold.

You have enabled PWM control, that’s the issue.

If you have just a relay, deactivate PWM.

Thanks Greg, that may explain one problem. I don’t recall ever changing any setting other than output from the V3 BUB R32 map. Good spot! The log pattern makes sense now. I’m away from the car and software for a bit, so this will have to keep.

Why would the other outputs pulse at defined intervals, I think they are the camshaft solenoids by memory?

That’s one issue down.

Just have the DSG, and idle issues to fix.

Greg, just accessed the map and saw that area pwm frequency was set at 50, now set to disabled. I hadn’t seen this ! Sneaky setting. I tested the OP on commissioning of the wiring, so it would have worked then as it was a solid output.
