eDash Testers - Start Here

Welcome to the eDash Open Beta testing group. eDash is currently in Open Beta, which means the application is still being actively developed and improved. During this phase, some features may change and occasional issues may occur.
We warmly invite you to test the app and share your feedback – your input helps us improve eDash faster and ensure the best possible user experience.

What do you need to get started?

1. Required firmware versions

2. eDash application 0.0.43

3. Documentation

Known issues

We are currently working on

  • Bluetooth connection stability - connection may occasionally disconnect
  • Channel availability detection - sometimes channels may appear as unavailable incorrectly
    workaround: disconnect and reconnect Bluetooth
  • Bluetooth device detection – some BT devices may not be found by the app, likely due to older Bluetooth protocols (SPP)

Helpful information to include:

• phone model
• OS version
• ECU type
• firmware version
• short description of the issue
• steps to reproduce
• screenshot or screen recording (if possible)

Thank you for helping us improve eDash :rocket:

How to update EDL

  1. Download the .zip file.
  2. Unpack the .zip file.
  3. Save the resulting firmware .bin file to the root directory of an SDHC card.
  4. Insert the card into the EDL-1 SD slot.
  5. The upgrade process will start automatically. During the upgrade procedure, the LED will flash.

We have noticed that some BT modules used in EDL units have limited signal strength, which may require placing them closer to the installed tablet.
The maximum radiated signal level is emitted in the direction of the EDL device connector.

Hi All!

Device Model: OnePlus 13
Android Version: 16 (OxygenOS 16.0.5)
App Version: 0.0.43
ECU Model: EMU Black
Connection Type: BT Module

Awesome work on the app guys! After using it for a bit, I just have a few thoughts/ideas. I’m sure some others have had similar comments.

  • Allow removing widget name. Not all displays need a name, e.g. Battery Voltage.
  • Allow sizes larger than 6x6. Especially useful for smaller displays.
  • Add square gauge sizes. Can be used for Gear display with no gauge title (just the number in a square).
  • Allow removing gauge border (for use with custom gauge background, so just the needle basically).
  • Add output flag lights (e.g. light when fans are active, nitrous is armed, or water pump is on). Don’t think these are on the CAN stream but would be nice to have.
  • Allow removing gauge/display units like V, C, etc.
  • Allow changing display units for the particular gauge.
  • Additional options/functions that would be nice: Odometer, Trip, Calculated Fuel Level channel + refilling function.

Is there any timeline for two-way communication with this setup? (Black + BT module)

I would like AN APK file my radio does not have google play

Can this be connected used over a hardwired connection or Bluetooth only?

eDash supports bluetooth only

Probably beginning of 2027 - a new version of the BT-to-CAN module is planned, enabling two-way communication

I was going to try this on my Android head unit, which has both USB and CAN connections, which would be lovely if they could be used rather than only Bluetooth, so I’ll second that suggestion

Добрый день!

BT module

Блютус соединение стабильное, но в приложении ничего не отображается.

I second the another connection option. I use ftdi rs232 USB converter in my car. Would be great if the edash would support this interface, because Real dash currently does.
