I have a simple question regarding fuel calculations for gasoline-ethanol blends. I have a well-functioning setup for gasoline with 0% ethanol content. Now I want to switch to a fuel mixture with 10% ethanol. Can the ECU automatically calculating the right fueling based on the 10% ethanol setting (see screenshot) ? Or does the VE table strictly need to be adjusted ?

First off, pump gas 91/93 already has about 8-10% ethanol in it. So likely you are already tuned with that amount to start with.
I am quite sure I am using an older version of the emublack and this setting is within the sensor setup under oxygen setup. I was told by Chris via tech support email that if I changed these settings (ie go from a selected Gasoline to say Gasoline + 20% ethanol) that the only thing changing would be how the AFR is displayed within the software. He said that if you are used to reading AFR in a traditional sense (like stoich being ~14.7) then just leave it on gasoline.
If you want to start tuning with E85 then plumb in a flex fuel sensor and wire it up and then just utilize the other VE table and Ignition tables to have the ECU switch/blend between VE/IGN #1 and VE/IGN #2 tables.
No you shouldn’t need to change anything, lambda 1 is lambda 1 so long as the correct fuel type is set there. As for how much ethanol is actually in fuel, it doesn’t really matter if it was tuned for 0% on a certain fuel and you move to fuel with 10% more ethanol, set it to 10%. In the UK 99ron is marked as 5% ethanol but is usually actually 0%. It’s really not going to make much difference though
Okay, great. Thanks a lot. That’s exactly how I imagined it. It’s the same here with high-octane fuel, which actually contains 0% ethanol.
