EMU Pro: Fuel Pressure protection

Is there a reason why in EMU Pro sofware there is no Fuel Pressure protection option like it is in Emu Black v2/v3 software?

I was looking into how to activate it and didn’t find any predefined option.

There is no native option at this moment.
We have to add it.

The lambda guard and duty-cycle protection will do very similar jobs.

If you have the rail pressure in EMU PRO set up to use the pressure sensor, the ECU will automatically recalculate the injector flow for the current pressure. So even when the pressure drops, there should be no significant effect on lambda unless the fuel flow is insufficient. In that case, either the lambda guard or duty cycle protection can kick in.

But we will add the option for setups where you don’t want to use the pressure sensor in fuel calculations.

hello, what is duty cycle protection ?

Protection strategy that overrides the engine RPM limiter Target if the duty cycle of any injector is over the allowed maximum.

There should be a least 2 user protections in this section, actually surprised there aren’t.

I don’t think the pressure compensation + duty cycle is a straightforward enough way to do this

I could see the use for fuel pressure and coolant pressure protection strategies

  • include all of the available reset methods
  • adjustable delays just like the other protection strategies
  • adjustable throttle position / map / rpm thresholds like the other protection strategies

Source:

  • could be a table + checkbox for above or below table value + hysteresis value

or

  • could be a simple on/off input and rely on functions/math/tables in the project tree to customize it

the table directly in this section would be more approachable
