Hi There,
I have a question, how should the graph look like?
On my EMU Classic I have some spikes on the graph, and the engine is smoothly shaking
I’m not sure whether the spikes we see are the cause or the effect.
Case 1 Cause: Poor trigger signal, causing irregular ignition, => engine shakes.
This assumption is contradicted by the fact that the signal is sometimes perfect.
Case 2 Effect: For some other reason, there are misfires and this uneven running is indicated by the trigger sensor.
I drive an inline 6 with wasted spark.
Then I removed all 6 spark plugs and turned the starter, and I noticed something strange. Since I use 3 double ignition coils, 2 spark plugs always ignite at the same time, but in a slow-motion video I was able to capture that only one spark plug ignited.
How can that be?
see the sparkplug in green
What engine? Stock wiring? Aftermarket wiring harness? Stock cam and crank sensors?
Coil packs can fail internally for sure. It can be very possibly that one spark plug can fire and the other does not.
Hi
Its an Opel C30SE
Wiring is custom made, completly New. Triggersensor 60-2 is aftermarket brand.
I dont know which Coil Current is necessary, i saw there are 2 versions 5A and 7A , so maybe my dwell time is to short and it generates an unstable spark…
Coil type
Bosch 0 221 503 010
Dwell time idleing 1,9ms
What Do you think

Bernhard
What ignitor are you using? Dwell time seems ok for now.
None, direct from emu to coilpack
So your settings are “passive coils” wasted spark “coils without amplifier” ??
I know every coil is going to have/like different dwell times. Maybe try shooting for 2.1 on your dwell time.
For instance my 2JZ engine is using the factory wasted spark coils and my swell is 2.8 @ 13-14v
In all honesty, your engine seems to be idling just fine to me. Every now and then even my JZ has a slight cough here and there but the RPMS are always steady. It sounds steady like your engine does.
