Pro 8 missfires and dwell errors

Hi all,

Started tuning my emu pro 8 today with the intention of doing some mapping on the road today.
I ran into a strange misfire problem though.
Engine is a 2jz-GE VVTI na-t running the OEM VR cam and crank sensors (both new, engine got a full refresh)

Some background: I run the whifbitz R35 COP kit, when I recieved the kit It had harness issues right away, the 12V pin in connector 6 wasnt crimped on, giving me a dead coil. Found that, fixed it.

I still seem to get misfires though, the standalone shows coil 3 and 6 have increased dwell times and the spark plugs show that these coils are misfiring. Swapping over the coils between each other does not remedy the issue or move the issue to the other cilinders. It remains in 3 and 6. Replacing or swapping over spark plugs also does nothing.

Given the firing order of the 2jz, 3 and 6 fire together, so I also have a suspicion towards signal or trigger distortion of some kind, but im stuck in finding a fix right now…

Hi,
I looked over the data, and I don’t see any issues with the trigger.
The scope and log look basically perfect. Zero trigger errors.

What I noticed is that the engine runs lean for whatever reason.
And it doesn’t look like lean conditions from misfires.
Did you try to increase fuel so you are not running on lambda 1.1?
With lambda like that you are guaranteed to have misfires.

Nice catch, but the limiter is not actually set up, so it does nothing.
No ignition correction, no cut, no DBW limit.

The only limiter that will activate is the hard fuel cut at 4000 rpm.

Thanks for the replies!

It turns out the coil pack wiring harness is bad. It has multiple wire breaks or bad connections. After moving the harness around I can get the car to ryn perfectly.
Listen to the engine note changing in both these videos.

After sharing the videos with the supplier he has send me a new harness under warranty. That should fix it.
When the harness lays in such a position that all connections are actually good, the car runs beautifully, see clip below.
