Ford Sierra 2.0 OHC on DET3+ piggy

Hello everyone!

My name is Wojtek, fresh owner of Det3. Creating this topic as I didn’t find answer for many of my questions, but firstly I will start with the 2 most important ones.

I didn’t find any proper topic about wiring nor with tuning old Fords on EEC-IV ecu, so maybe this is the time to start it!

I have successfully wired DET3 and car is running fine on piggy DET3. MAF->MAP conversion done, bigger injectors, turbo mounted, LSU 4.9 for AFR control.

My 2 main questions are:

  • How to make corrections or how are they applying to my manually created map for fuel management? I have 1-4 charts where I can see logs from e.g. AFR or TPS, but I think I don’t fully understand how corrections are applied to the main map. When my chart for AFR is full, I can see its readings, so for example I can see that my AFR was 13.4 when boost started to raise - But how is it affecting my main map, if I got AFR chart set as “Correction” in table configuration?

2nd question

  • I have small problem with starting my car. Usually I have to crank it 4-5 times to have it running. I assume this might be because of cold engine - If so, what can I do to tell my DET that engine is cold and it needs to it more fuel rich?

I fully understand that those might be the most basic questions on the Earth, but this is the first time I am doing anything with “computer” stuff on cars apart of diagnostics with Delphi lol

Will be extra grateful for any hints!
