Hi there,
i have some difficulty with my EMU BLACK, first i had a map i made, can take 0.7bar of boost no problem, run pretty well, but poor idle and acc enrichment due to lack of knowledge (i build this car in a learning goal)…
So i cheat a little and i get a basemap for my engine (mercedes M102) and manually made a mix between both.
Now idle is good, acc enrichment is good, but every time my boost hit 0.50/0.60 the ecu go to inactive state then afterstart (in like less than 0.10 sec), i try my old map back, but still do the same now.
I look at EVERY log chanel and don’t found anything relevant, sometime fuel pump DC goes to 0 befor ecu change state, sometime it’s after, sometime i have forced low pass filter active at the same time that fuel pump DC goes to 0… i was thinking about fuel pump relay, but fuel pressure is ok and lambda too.
here one log with the map used, you can look at 57:18 to see the state change
BTW i’m on V3 studio 3.70
thank’s !
It looks like you have trigger errors. As I can see you have a hall sensor with low pullup what is ok.
You can try add some filtering in primary trigger input settings and check if it help.
Also check if you can rev the engine without the boost until the rev limiter.
Do you have spark plugs with resistors ? Do you use HT wires or COPS?
thank’s for the quick answer,
will try the filtering
I can rev the engine to the moon no problem, it just cut with boost
i have NGK 3689 spark plugs, i think it have 5kOmh inside resistor
I use both (budget build, Toyota coil pack + stock Mercedes wire to the plugs)
I would try the standard NGK spark plugs first.
Whne there is a boost, there could be a problem with mixture ignition (no spark for example). The energy from coil must be released and it can cause serious electric noise, that cause the trigger errors.
i understand what you’re saying, but i don’t understand what have changed between old and new map, maybe with the new map ignition was stronger/hotter and spark plug take damage ?
But you stated that it doesnt work on old map now ? Or I missunderstand it ?
If it works on old map, check dwell time and dwell corrections.
no you are right: old was ok > new not okay > old not ok
What i mean is that i don’t understand what cause de problem in the first place, why when i put the new map the first time the cut apear out of nowere and now it happen every time
Iridium type spark plugs are very fragile. If you have floded them they could be broken.
I woudl start with regular NGK spark plug. You can use 1 level colder ones.
ok i get it
I order 4 brand new spark plugs, will try it and tell you about it
thank’s for the help !
i have some news, all plugs insulator were carked (i don’t know if it was already there or me that done it when a removed them)… will try new plugs next
here some (bad) news, new plugs and new plugs wire, and it’s worst than before, now it append on boost AND when just cruising (see the log, same map than previous one) can it be an optical trigger sensor problem ?
