With a previous car we ran a lot of night races, but with the current car and ECUMaster stuff we have not done any yet, but next season we are planning several night races.
Is there a way to manually adjust the dash brightness if the Auto Brightness is not working well enough?
I’ll probably go to a 3d table to give the drivers the ability to dim if they want.
Am I correct in that 0 is fully dark and 1500 is bright? I looked at my data and it appears to be in the 50-1100 range during a race. Depending on the time of day. I don’t really have any night data at the moment. How fast does the screen respond? Given the data from the lap below, what would happen if I had the brightness ranging from 50% at 50 - 100% at 1100?

There is an adaptation rate parameter which decides how fast the brightness can change.
You can set it from 0 to 100 %/s.
If you want to test how it behaves in your case, just use any light source and shine it on the light sensor, and observe the adu.brightness channel and the real display brightness.
