Powering low current devices direct from EMU Pro 8

Hi all,
Still continuing on the design of my vehicle control units. These consist of the EMU Pro 8, ADU 7, PMU16, CAN Switch board for steering wheel control and a CAN Keyboard for dash inputs.

Quick question,
in order to take some load off the PMU16, and free up a few higher current outputs, I was wondering if using some spare outputs on the Pro 8 to control lower current (max 4A Cont.) items such as Brake lights, Reverse lights, maybe even indicators would be a good idea?

There seems to be less flexibility in the output configuration (and protection) on the Pro 8 compared to the PMU, like inrush current configuration, etc.
Is there anything that I should be concerned with if I configure the Pro 8 like this?

I often using h bridges for reverse light rain light and brake light no problems there.
outputs are overcurrent protected so all was working without an issue.

Yes, you can use these outputs for any loads with a constant current of up to 5 A. Outputs have short-circuit protection and overcurrent protection at 10 A. Too much inrush current for too long might trip the overcurrent protection.

Before finalizing the design, it would be best to test switching the actual loads you want to use to ensure the protection won’t trip.
