Software opinions

Hi! I am installing my EMU black on a motorcycle engine application. The original ignition maps use very high ignition advance, up to 90 degrees on closed and part throttle, presumably for smooth throttle response.

Reading the How-to Configure Trigger in EMU BLACK manual it seems like the maximum possible ignition advance should be controlled by the Trigger Angle setting.
It however seems like the maximum supported ignition advance in the ignition maps are fixed at 60 deg before TDC? Can this be changed in a setting? Is it hardcoded in the SW? Is it technically possible for the SW to support ignition advance up to the Trigger angle setting? I currently set the Trigger angle setting to 95 degrees.
Thanks Viktor

In your case your settings are good.

Thats more for emission control to burn more efficiently any excess fuel etc. Looks like a some Suzuki map from Woolich Racing (…or Ecueditor).
If you are using boosted application, dont use that high ign area in your base map, imo. If its N/A then use at least overrun function.
I´ve made some base maps based on stock ecu maps but never used that area. Maybe someone here has?

Thanks you for very good tips! It is as you spotted a stock Suzuki ignition map :slightly_smiling_face:. The application is NA. Then I will enable overrun functionality with fuel cut :+1:
If the high ignition area only is for emission it seems like it would be safer to not use it. (I can not go over 60 degrees advance in ECU Master map anyway). Here is my current base ignition map, remapped from the stock ignition maps.

Hello, will be a dark mode in future available ? That would be awesome!

Actually, there is no simple solution for Dark Mode for WIN32 MDI application…

Any Chance in the future to add CAN commands to control tps/fuel/ignition tables ?
We have modified an dynocontroller that can send CAN commands to ECU doing dyno/tuning.

The dyno can then takeover the ECU and control and adjust the ECU

Is there any way to disable or lock short term trim correction during overrun fuel cut?

Did you configure your overrun strategy ?
Wehn oeverrun strategy is active the short term is disabled.

Yep its enabled you can see its overrun active in my sceenshot but it is still correcting

And what is a state of the overrun ? Log channel Overrun status

What fv version do you use ?

3.047
i believe it have some relation with the "short term trim"lock during acc enrichment " setting
i check old logs and it was not correcting during overrun with this on . i change setting to reset trim at acc enrichment yesterday and then this happened.

Sounds possible. Looks like a bug.

Did you guys can do the option for switching the spark cut for cooling the engine ? I have a car for circuit racing and the engines sometimes get up egt’s so i can put a switch on a buttom of the steering wheel when i need to cool it

There is a cycling idle startegy what you can use for cooling the engine. But if your engine is getting hot during race drive you should fix / update your cooling system.

The cooling system is upgraded , im asking for it when the car is at the pits before shutting it off

So the cycking idle is perfect for you.
It increases rpm cut fuel and allow much better water flow to improve cooling
