Triger setting help

Hello

This is the gearing diagram on our 36-2 tooth crankshaft when I set it to top dead center.

Can you explain to me how to adjust the timing belt on a Black?
The gear is my own manufacture.

Is there anyone who can explain how the system works mathematically?

Do you have a degree wheel? I had to make a cardboard insert for my flex plate. I used a compass to mark off the degrees I needed then used an angle finder to do the subtraction.

First, I marked the TDC position and then I rotated the crank until the CPS was dead in the middle of the window (the missing two). The angle between these two marks is what you need to find.

Mine was 105°, so I used 255° (360°-105°)

That didn’t work, so I added 360° (engine previously not on power stroke at 255°).

That didn’t work, so I inverted engine phase and it hit on the first turn and sat at 15° (which is where I had it locked but even unlocked it sits at like ~14-16°)

^^^That will work as long as your cam position sensor is set up correctly. I had to use an oscilloscope to get the sync math right first.

I didn’t quite understand, but something came to mind.
