Hello,
I had a very strange problem with my tune. My car was down for a few months for a rebuild. Before starting i updated to the latest firmware and software. The tune was dialed in before and the only real mechanical change was the exhaust cam. The car started easily and i let it warm up. Idled very smoothly and i didn’t notice any problems. Once it warmed up i tried to rev it, but the car would not rev smoothly past 2k rpm with any throttle input over 40%. All the basics were checked (base timing, scope, fuel pressure, ignition) and nothing was abnormal. Checked the fuel pumps, valve lash, timing belt, cleaned the lines, rebuilt the FP regulator and got the injectors cleaned. Everything was perfect.
This led me to think something was wrong with the ECU. Figured maybe i changed a value somehow and this was causing some issues. After comparing it to an old file, there weren’t any major differences. I decided to flash a slightly older tune in from January and now the car works. AFR’s are slightly off because its not an optimized tune, but the car now revs freely. I went through every line in the newest revision, but couldn’t find anything that would cause this to happen. I have not flashed the latest tune back onto the ecu.
Have any issues like this popped up before? Is it possible the latest file is somehow corrupted?
