Use of GPS timestamps for real time clock

Any chance of the EMU Pro snagging real time clock data from GPS?

There is one problem with that.

GPS only provides UTC time.
While you probably want your local time.

There is no chance of automatic time zone updates without a connection to a laptop/internet.

So the only solution would be a time offset setting configured manually by the user.

I’d be quite comfortable with UTC. Plus I’d say providing time zone information on a one time basis in exchange for the ECU keeping perfect time from then onwards is a reasonable expectation. Perhaps that’s just me?

I think that if it’s detected that GNSS time is available and the internal clock has never been set yet, to either accept or ignore it on a one time basis. Not just blindly take on the value (or values past the initial setting).

I think this is a great idea!
UTC works for me if an offset is not available (or set).
