Vr5/vr6 engine DQ250 gearbox Speed sensor question

I have a Emublack ECU on a AQN Vr5 VW engine, using dq250 gearbox.
The car is a kit car, so no other VW systems are linked/plugged in.

Where does the speed sense VSS get taken from? Is it inside the box, or do I need an external speed sensor? Presumably the box needs to see that data?

Someone more versed may chime in. But in an OE application the VSS is sent via Canbus from the wheel speed sensors and communicated via the ABS module to the rest of the powertrain components.

Ah..

So I need to add a vss input to the Emublack, and presumably enable the emulation part, of that’s the case.

ive done it 2 different ways, ive setup an anolog speed sensor and ive also used an old vw can bus capable abs module and tied all speed sensor wiring to 1 sensor.

I was looking at adding a Halltech GPS module into the Emublack vss. I had trouble previously on the mr2 1zz engine getting a decent speed sensor input, even though the Halltech gear readout read perfectly each time.
My Mr2 runs stock abs as it is. Maybe i check the old 1zz ECU wiring for an ABS speed pulse input.
