VVT calibration not working 2.0tsi

Hello.

I have a ea888 gen4 equipped with EMU Pro. I use the Ecumaster gen 3 basemap and I am now in the process of recalibrating the cams. But it´s not working with the vvt tuner. The engine stalls everytime and i tried many things. I need some advice.

If you can’t upload the files, use an external sharing service, such as WeTransfer.com

You have a different trigger wheel on camshaft. You have 9 teeth, while the one the basemap comes from has 4. Because of that the engine is synchronised in a different position and it looses the synchronisation when the VVT Tuner advances the cam.

What secondary trigger settings do you have? You may post the project as well.

i have changed it to 9 teeth. I think there is a problem with the sec trigger settings. The engine runs with N-1. With N+1 the engine doesnt start. But for my understanding I´m sure its a N+1 trigger wheel. I atteched my project and a sec trigger wheel picture

You are correct, this is an N+1 pattern, and it should work.

Using N+1 will make the synchronization point in the other rotation of the engine cycle, compared to what you have now. So switching to N+1 will also require inverting the engine phase in the secondary trigger settings.

If that doesn’t work, make a scope with those settings and post it.

If it works, the VVT tuner should work fine as well.

n+1, invert sec trigger.emuproscp (3.5 KB)

N+1 and iverting the secondary trigger did not work

Interesting.
The teeth are not evenly spaced. The difference between short and long gaps is close to triggering, but not enough.

Change to “Shorter than factor” pattern with factor 0.7:
