I’m opening this thread because there is just one simular topic on this community and it got a little bit poluted talking about other subjects.
It’s well known that ECU Master is developing EMU PRO CAN protocol to work with ZF 8HP 2nd gen, let’s get as much as info about it on this thread.
I will start with two questions:
It will also work on gen 1 8HP as well?
When it will be available?
Yes it works also with the gen 1.
We reveal more details after the distributors meeting at the end of this month.
Now that we’re into October, any updates on 8HP stuff? Got a Gen2 8HP50 getting stuck behind an F136 4.2L.
I am. new to the 8HP idea, it looks like it has heaps of potential if you havre a controller for it. What hardware is going to be required on the transmission if the Pro takes over the software ? Will the TCU need to be reflashed ?
Hi,
Yes, the OEM TCU needs to be reflashed, but you won’t need any extra tools or hardware.
Basic configuration will work on a single CAN bus with just the EMU PRO/Black.
Unusual shifter and chassis combinations might require a CAN gateway.
At release, we will support two boxes, 8HP50 (Gen 2) and 8HP70 (Gen 1).
We will be adding support for more boxes later.
There is no release date yet.
