I would like to install a PRO-8 on a 5 cylinder Volvo engine, with only the 60-2 sensor.
This means it would be in “Wasted spark” mode
Will this be possible?

I’ve seen on other stand alone’s people set this at 10 cyl wasted spark, so i think this will not be posibble with PRO 8. Probably with PRO 16.
Other people had success using cam and crank sensor with coil on plugs.
There is no direct support for an odd number of cylinders in EMU PRO-8 or EMU PRO-16.
I know, it could be done as 10 cylinders wasted spark (as @BCR mentioned).
Direct support is on our to-do list, as one customer asked for one-cylinder wasted spark.

Surely setup as 10cyl you would no longer need to setup as wast spark, you can just assign the imaginary cylinders to the same corresponding 1-5 ignition outputs, so each cylinder fires every revolution. You might need to set double the displacement to bring the fueling back into line.
