I have an EMU black with the pnp and I cannot get the CEL to work even though it worked on stock ECU and the bulb is good. Also checked my wiring for AUX 3 which is good and pins are seated properly. Is there something I’m missing here or have to do in the software?
Stuff like check engine light is sometimes a high side output. Also put boost solenoid on aux 3 instead of 1 . Aux 1 and 2 dont have built in flyback diodes.
It’s low side on Toyota
Agree the boost sol should be on aux 3 unless the PNP has a flyback buried in it. check the base map and spreadsheet on Ecumaster usa site database
Is your JZX100 a GTE? annoyingly a lot of little stuff like that changes on the body side with those cars. Toyota was wild back then and every engine has a different pinout. GE vs GTE vs 1G swapped are all different and even function differently.
The EMU won’t actually light up the factory CEL. If you look inside the software, there is a small black box near the bottom left side of the screen next to “Can Bus” labeled CEL. It will light up read noting any issues within the EMU wiring/sensors.
If you have not modified the PnP harness from ECU masters and simply plugged everything up, you likely WILL have some codes stored on the factory computer. You can read these by plugging up an OBD-2 scanner (idk what year your car is) to the car and see what they are.
he most likely has a wiring issue, as the EMU can light a JZX100 check engine light. I have personally done it a few times, with a PNP
There is no CAN bus on these cars, nor is there OBD2 as it wasn’t require in Japan at the time.
FIXED : CEL is wired to pin 58 and not 75. Depinned 58 and pinned it into 75 on the pnp and everything is good now. Their diagram shows CEL on pin 75 for some reason maybe on an S1? Mine is a 1998 S2
Good find! I now should take a look at my wiring on my IS300 pnp harness to see if they placed it on the wrong pin as well. Although I really don’t care what codes are there since the factory ECU isn’t doing much regarding the engine parameters anyway.
