Ethanol Correction

Has anyone tried using ethanol in the V3?
I have a flexfuel sensor, so its active on fuel composition with “fuel + ethanol ,flex fuel sensor”, and as soon as I add ethanol, when it reads 30% ethanol, for example, the mixture becomes very lean. The only way to make the mixture stable is to increase the enrichment level in the flexfuel table to the maximum (60%) and I still have to create another enrichment method, also at 60%, so that the mixture becomes “good”.
I don’t have any logs with me, but I can test again.
Thanks

There must be other problem. You need to send a logs and the base map.

I have issues with mine also. I just updated to the latest v3 software, and after refueling my ethanol content went from 76 to 68, and the lambda values were definitely a bit richer than before. So theres something going on where this calculation isnt working correctly

The calculations are based on the physical model.

You need to build the base map using know ethanol content (flex fuel active or set up manualy ethanol content).

The base Ethanol correction table is based on fuel density 0,723 g/cm3

Different fuel providers can have fuel with different fuel density. However, you can adjust this table to get proper lambda on different ethanol fuels.

Also the injectors calibration matters (especially on idle).

Yes, ive been on ethanol with a FF sensor for over 3 years, ve table was built with the flex fuel active, and injector cal should be correct. But like i said, even just that 8% change in ethanol resulted in my AFR’s being .5-1.0 richer than it had been before.

Is the gasoline density per manufacturer public info? And how would we adapt that number to the table if we can find it?

also, would it make sense to just change the ethanol content, and then adjust the whole table up or down to bring the lambda numbers back in line?

Thanks
